The Trinity of God is a fundamental doctrine to the Christian faith. Human reason
cannot fully understand, and logic cannot explain the Trinity. The word "Trinity" is
not in the Text of the Bible, but it is plainly taught. Trinity is the word used to
describe the one True and Living God, who is seen as the Father, the Son and the
Holy Ghost. They are co-existent, co-equal and co-eternal, forming the one True
and Living God.
I. The Biblical Basis for the Doctrine
1. The Baptism of Christ (Matthew 3:13-17)
2. The Christian Baptism (Matthew 28:19)
3. The Benediction of Paul (2 Corinthians 13:14)
II. The Works of the Trinity
1. In Creation (Genesis 1:1-3)
2. In Creation of Man (Genesis 1:26)
3. In the Virgin Birth (Luke 1:30-35)
4. In Redemption (Hebrews 9:14)
5. In Salvation
*The Father Draws (John 6:44)
*The Son Receives (John 6:37)
*The Holy Spirit Regenerates (John 3:7-8)
6. In Prayer
*Pray to the Father (John 16:23)
*Pray in Christ's Name (John 16:23)
*Pray in the Spirit (Romans 8:26)
Conclusion:
We may illustrate the Trinity in this manner:
-To my children, I am a father.
-To my parents, I am a son.
-To you, I am a preacher.
One person seen in three separate persons, yet undivided.
