Our Spiritual Privilege
The problems in the church at Corinth can be seen in all churches down throughout
the church age. Many of these same problems exist in our churches today. The
purpose of this Epistle is to instruct the churches in how to correct these problems
and become more efficient in our worship and work for the Lord. Before Paul
begins to correct the church problems, he reminds them of their special spiritual
privilege of being in Christ,
which is also our special privilege as well.

TS: As born again believers, we are in Christ. Let us consider three things about our
being in Christ:

I. The Means of Being in Christ

    1. Redemption (1 Peter 1:18-20)
    2. Regeneration (John 3:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12:13)

II. The Meaning of Being in Christ

    1.Identified in Christ's Past (Romans 6:3-11)
    2. Identified in Christ's Present (Ephesians 2:5-6)
    3. Identified in Christ's Future (Colossians 3:1-4)

III. The Ministry of Being in Christ

     1. A Call to Worship (John 4:23-24)
     2. A Call to Walk (Galatians 5:13)
     3. A Call to Witness (1 Corinthians 5:17-20)
     4. A Call to Wait Upon God (Isaiah 40:31)

Conclusion: Being a part of the church of the Lord Jesus Christ is truly a special
spiritual privilege. We have access to all spiritual blessings in heavenly places
(Ephesians 1:3) in Christ to help us through all circumstances of life.
