Introduction to the Tabernacle III
Introduction:
As we continue our introduction to the Tabernacle we want to look at why we
should study the Tabernacle. I am concerned that many of God's people have
dishonoured Him and His Word by their neglect of this great subject in the Bible.
More space is devoted to the Tabernacle than any other subject or object in the
Bible. So it deserves our full attention and study.

I. Why Should We Study the Tabernacle?

    1. Because all Scripture is profitable (2 Timothy 3:16)
    2. Because all Scripture is written for our learning (Romans 15:4)
    3. Because Israel is an example for us to learn from (1 Corinthians 10:1-11)

II. What is the Tabernacle an Illustration Of?

1.A pattern of Heaven (Hebrews 9:23-24)
    2. A picture of Christ Himself (2 Corinthians 5:19)

III. What is the Plan and Purpose of the Tabernacle?

   1. It was temporary
   2. It was where God met with His people
   3. It was the place where man approached God
   4. It was the place where the Law was preserved (Deuteronomy 10:2-5)
   5. It was the place where the sacrifice was made
   6. It was the place of worship
   7. It only had one door (John 10:9)
   8. It was approached through the tribe of Judah
   (Numbers 2:3; Exodus 27:12-17; Revelation 5:5)
