For the Master

What will I do for the Master today?
Will I uphold Him in all of my ways?
Will I take time to pray, as He said;
Or am I too busy with others, instead?

What if He came to my house today;
Oh, but I’ve forgotten—He’s with me always!
Would I change my plans if all could see
That the God of Heaven is walking with me?

How many times have I needed Him when
He would always speak to me then;
Saying, “I am with you, your strength I will be.”
Even when I’m unfaithful, He’s faithful to me.

Will I wander away from Him today,
Or will I even closer grow;
Have joy in His presence, as onward I go
Oh listen, dear Christian, seek Him today
We have not much longer to walk in this way.

Be glad in chastisement which proves you’re His child
Be humble, submissive and patient as while
Each day on your journey on this earth below
More of the Master you should seek to know.

What will I do for the Master today?
By His grace I’ll uphold Him in all of my ways
By His love I’ll love others, even when they’re unkind
By His Word a guide for my pathway I’ll find
By His strength, temptations I can overcome,
Through His grace I can say,
“not my will, but Thine be done.”
